English:

The main forum is down, so I am wondering if I can get help here:
I have an SD4000/ 300HS, not sure which FW, because I can't get a hold of CameraVersion 1.2 (download limit reached).

I copied beta 5 on a blank 2GB card. (Do I need to use the CHDK-Shell ?).
I don't get the Firmware Update Menu item.
I tried pressing "Play" a couple of time and waiting 2 seconds.

I also tried the Up/Left combination, but I assume that's after I get the "Firmare Update" procedure to work.

work.

I've mirrored CameraVersion v1.2 for you: http://drop.io/chdk_ixus300_sd4000/asse ... 12-sfx-exe , CameraVersion v1.1 will work too. (look http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/CameraVersion).
Get your Firmware Version is the first important step.

If "firmware update" does not show up, there must be something wrong or you have other firmware version.
CHDK-Shell is used to compile chdk on windows.

This is how to enter "ALT" mode on SD4000 once chdk is running.

Thanks for uploading CameraVersion 1.2, I double checked that the version is 100d (100 Rev 4).

I finally figured it out how to load it: I used a cached version of the international thread: You have to turn the camera on using the "Play" button. If you use the "Power" button, "Firmware Update" menu item doesn't show up.

Also, I noticed that unless I go into the menu and say "Make Card Bootable" (then lock it), the CHDK doesn't come back on restart.

Looks cool, thanks for working on it, since I was one of the first people to get SD4000, I thought it would take years to the hack. But there it is.

In the process of "trying stuff" I downloaded the "CHDK shell". I updated to the latest tip and compiled CHDK for SD550, loaded and all.

I can't figure out what branch you are on, all the branches seem old. Are you on a branch ? I wanted to recompile the fix you had posted for the Battery voltage limits.

Also, wanted to play with the code more. I noticed (and read on cached forum threads) that setting Raw crashes SD4000. And the games are missing color (unless I messed up the settings). But, in general, this is a good beta.

Thanks,
Mark

Yes, firmware update is only possible if camera is startet in playback mode (without doing anything before).

Make Bootable and locked SD-Card is required for chdk autostart.

It is a challenge. Put a lot of work into this. Thanks.

My Github has copy of current chdk trunk and two braches (sd4000,sd900): http://github.com/pixeldoc2000/chdk/tree/ixus300_sd4000

I worked on that http://github.com/pixeldoc2000/chdk/com ... 194e0bae10

The color pallett changed with 2010 camera. I've have to create new color "settings" to fix osd colors are different in playback/record more (ToDo).

Please join the sd4000 thread at the international forum: http://chdk.setepontos.com/index.php?topic=5574.0
